There are manuals on the web. The new site is Delftship and you can download the manual by simply registering. It remains free for the standard version. The most important thing to remember is that you are dealing with surface modelling. You can extend edges and move points about.
Both the left hand mouse button and right hand mouse button provide useful functionality. You can use these to zoom the image as well as grab the image and move it over the window. It allows you to get into fine detail on the screen. If you search Freeship on this forum you will find lots of information and there are many example fbm files on the forum that you can play with. As you come across something that you cannot sort out you should make a post on the forum just at the point where you start banging your head against a hard wall. Fender jazz bass serial numbers. It will take maybe 20 hours of dedicated effort to get some handle on it. Like most CAD programs it has layers that you can place different parts of your design on.
It is useful to master the layer controls before getting into any complex design.
Hello Ben, Your hull is quite irregular in the bow and chines and it still needs a lot of work. I don't know what kind of work boat you are aiming, but I tried to play a little bit with the crease edges and clean some edges to check if I found something useful. In any case, if you want to define knuckle lines or chines, you just have to select the edges and turn them into crease edges. PS: Try downloading power boats from delftship database. There are quite a few very interesting for your work.

FREE!ship Tutorial - Getting Started How to Use FREE!ship - an unofficial tutorial - Part 1: Getting Started Many people say that FREE!ship with all its many features is a bit difficult to learn. My own experience is, that once you understand the basics, it is actually quite easy. This tutorial will show you how to use many of its features by working on an actual hull. You will need FREE!ship version 1.90 or later.
With permission of Jim Michalak, I will use his 'Bobsboat', i.e. The same hull that he uses for his hull design tutorial.
How To Use Delftship
Jim says that this is an unfinished design, but I think it is a good example for a tutorial (it is not by chance that he choose it for his lesssons). I have taken the drawings from. This is the sketch of Bobsboat. We start a new design: File - New (or just click the Button).
From the plan view we see, that we would need 12 points in longitudinal direction. The first one would be the transom, the last one the stem. However, we choose now only 10, so that we can try some more features later.
From the bodyplan view we see, that we need 4 points in vertical direction: the first one for the keel line, the last one for the sheer line. The length will be 20 feet. In the bodyplan view we see the max. Half beam as 36 inch, so the beam will be 6 feet.
